Fuji Systems has long been committed to improving quality of life through the development and production of medical devices. Through these business and corporate activities, we aim to achieve the third SDG target, "GOOD HEALTH AND WELL-BEING" while enhancing our corporate value and contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.

Resolution of Social Issues through Products and Assistance in Times of Disaster
- Donated non-stick silicone gauze used to treat burns at the time of the 2014 Kaohsiung gas explosions in Taiwan
- Donated endotracheal tubes used for airway management to Ukraine at the time of the Russian military invasion of Ukraine in 2022
- Implemented large scale two-hub distribution to achieve a stable supply of domestic products
(Shirakawa City, Fukushima Prefecture and Miki City, Hyogo Prefecture)
Creation and Development of Revolutionary Medical Devices
- Developed products effective for diseases regarded as difficult to treat or operate on in cooperation with medical institutions
Realization of Satisfying Workplaces
- Promoted the development of an environment allowing for self-improvement Launched "Fuji Systems University" in December 2022 where employees from different departments can learn a wide variety of topics including communication, English conversation, and marketing as well as workshops on our products based on opinions from employees. Held about 30 workshops outside working hours using a web-based conference system. 61 out of 200 employees participated.
Reduction of Environmental Impacts at Our Offices
Entire company
- Implemented Cool-Biz (business casual) according to weather conditions
- Recommended web conferences Reduced face-to-face meetings as much as possible to reduce the use of natural resources due to transportation
- Implemented power saving, water saving, and reuse of resources
- Sold the catheter for self-catheterization, a reuse product
Offices
- Changed about 80% of sales cars to hybrid cars
- Used products with expired sterilization as shape samples
"Shirakawa Plant" and "Distribution Center"
- Reduced the size of presentation boxes used for products (by up to 44% in volume) Transitioned to the minimum required size
- Reused corrugated cardboard used for returns of unused products and transportation of packages between sites (also in each branch)
- Prioritized shipment of products with impending sterilization expiration dates
Laboratory
- Implemented LED lighting
Currently switching to LED lighting at the plant (40% LED lighting at this time)
Will be implemented at the distribution center in the future
Respect for Human Rights
- Deployed staff members to departments regardless of gender
- Hired foreign workers at the Shirakawa Plant Total of 9 workers including foreign technical intern trainees and part-time workers
(Breakdown: 2 from Indonesia, 3 from Thailand, and 4 from the Philippines) - Held workshops on the prevention of power harassment
Efforts toward Regional Coexistence and Disaster Prevention
- Actively used regional specialty goods in our business activities
(e.g. "Shirakawa Daruma," a specialty good of Shirakawa City, Fukushima Prefecture) - Participated in disaster prevention training in areas around Totsuka-ku where the laboratory is located
- Stockpiled food, etc. for stranded commuters in case of emergency at the head office and laboratory
